In the spirit of beer being the beverage of the everyday man (and woman), we present Musical Cheers, a column that puts real beer in the hands of real people. Musical Cheers is guest authored by a revolving selection of friends and columnists with tastes as varied as the beers they review.

THE REVIEW
Name of beer reviewing: Diet Starts Tomorrow by Karben 4
Type of beer: Chocolate Oatmeal Stout
ABV: 6.3 percent
Pre-tasting:
I was drawn to this alcoholic beverage by the hilarious overweight cat in exercise gear lying on a scale. Popping the cap off this bad boy the aroma reminded me of Guinness with a hint of chocolate. Pouring it out into a glass I was surprised by how dark it was.
Post-tasting: This beer is definitely not a beer I would normally drink. (Did I mention the cat?) It was super thick, dark and had a Guinness and chocolate aftertaste to it. After my son Logan dared me to slam the glass, I discovered that this beer went well with other food with chocolate in it. In my case, Oreo cookies with birthday cake filling.
You'll like this beer if: You like Guinness or any other dark beer.
You'll dislike this beer if: If you do not care for super dark beer and/or if you're lightweight.
