beer review—paul evansen—sept 2020
Reviewer: Paul Evansen - Community Engagement Coordinator - Advocates/LMBF performer/Neil Diamond Tribute artist
Currently listening to: Sade - LIVE (yeah, she's the hot singer with the smooth voice)
Currently reading: Maze Runner
Favorite Film: Alfred Hitchcock - Rear View Window
Name of beer: Cave Ale
Type: Amber Ale
Brewed by Potosi Brewery - Potosi, WI
Packaging: Very "matter of fact" bottle wrap - that includes an image of a cave entrance. Cap has the Potosi logo scripted on it, which is pretty cool!
Pre-tasting: Poured into a pint glass the beer has a wonderful color and presentation.
Post tasting: I'm more of an IPA guy than anything and there's a reason why - as Amber Ale's go this one is a safe bet - but it's simply not my cup of tea. Nose is adequate and flavor is average. I doubt that I could finish more than a pint but for those who enjoy a solid Scottish Ale or Red Ale this might be right up your alley!
Rating: 5 1/2 out of 10
