LMBF's 'Jailhouse Rock'

The Music of Elvis, '60s Alive on Stage

Diamonds and Gold presents Let Me Be Frank's all new comedy musical, “Jailhouse (Reformatory) Rock" at the Meyer Theatre. Let Me Be Frank's looks at the uprising of the Green Bay Reformatory in 1969 in a humorous way. LMBF's does know this was a serious incident in 1969, so we spoof the time and the lives of inmates in the early 1960s. We change names and places to protect the innocent.

Fester (Pat Hibbard) has the Warden (Tom Verbrick) duck taped to a table and has a list of demands he wants implemented. Sideburns, (Elvis wannabe, Frank Hermans) and Little Sideburns (newbie and young Elvis wannabe, Andrew Stieber) are in on the uprising. They have secret info on the Warden and vow to tell the governor if their demands are not met. One of the demands is, you guessed it: girls! Warden Game is distraught at the thought of his secret being told, so he reluctantly calls the warden at Taycheedah and sets up a meet and greet with a few of the female inmates. Escape is on the girls' minds and Bambi (Lisa Borley) has a plan. Fellow girl inmates think this is a gig that the warden has set up to “entertain" the guards. Inmates Red (Amy Riemer) and Princess (Kasey Corrado) are there to get the skinny on the guards. Hilarity ensues. Also appearing are Heath Hermans as Officer Hughhash and the amazing LMBF's band featuring Dennis Panneck on guitars, Jeff Arnold on piano and Adam Cain on drums.

The show runs July 17 through Aug. 17, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 8 p.m. and matinees at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, Saturday, July 15 and Monday, August 17.
