In the spirit of beer being the beverage of the everyday man (and woman), we present Musical Cheers, a column that puts real beer in the hands of real people. Musical Cheers is guest authored by a revolving selection of friends and columnists with tastes as varied as the beers they review.

Name of beer reviewing: Luna Coffee Stout
Type of beer: Stout
ABV: 5.8 percent
Pre-tasting: The dark black color gave me the notion of a BOLD, in-your-face blast of dark roasted and perhaps bitter espresso bean coffee drink combined with a Guinness beer. After opening and conducting the “sniff test," I was surprised to smell a pleasant soft coffee roasting aroma similar to the smell of walking into a café that roasts their own coffee. Pleasant but not overwhelming.
Post-tasting:I found this beer to be delightful! It poured into the glass thick and frothy, almost like a well-imaged tv commercial. The flavors of creamy chocolate with a balance of perfectly medium roasted specialty-coffee and a hint of espresso makes this beer a great during-or-after-dinner beer. If you're like me, you'll enjoy an excellent marriage of two indulgences in life that need to be enjoyed!
You'll like this beer if: You love the taste of specialty coffee and are looking for something unique, dark and decadent.
You'll dislike this beer if: You are boring and dislike coffee.
