The Fantasticks

Feb 9

Broadway Theatre - 7 p.m.

“The Fantasticks" isn't the easiest show to decipher. (What in life is?) It is simply set, is an easy-to-understand love story at the core, has a famous song in the thoughtful “Try to Remember" and yet it is wholly bizarre at many turns. Director/choreographer Alicia Birder and her solid cast touch all the bases with consistent performances.

The story: Luisa and Matt are next door neighbor teenagers who are in love. The story presumes that teenagers just won't listen, so Luisa and Matt's fathers do an opposite – build a wall between their properties – so as to drive Luisa and Matt to each other as they wish.
